THE POSITION


Washington County Behavioral Health Division within the Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting for a B ilingual Spanish/English Wraparound Care Coordinator to join our Wraparound team! This is an exceptional opportunity to take your career to a new level and provide behavioral health care coordination for eligible children and families in the Washington County Wraparound program. Wraparound is a team-based planning and problem-solving process to help youth and their families struggling with emotional, mental, and behavioral problems. The process begins by identifying the family's strengths and needs and then creating a plan to meet these needs.

In this position, you will work closely in partnership with family and youth partners to build an individualized Wraparound planning team with young individuals enrolled in our voluntary program. Youth and family voices are centered in all of our work and we continually strive to align our work with Oregon's Wraparound Best Practices. You will also facilitate a fidelity Wraparound process; develop care and safety plans; provide complex case or exceptional needs care coordination; conduct Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessments; procure needed treatment, coordinate service delivery; and coordinate and collaborate with system of care/community partners.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive experience working in child/youth mental health field; have knowledge of the child/youth serving system of care; have a passion for serving youth and families with complex needs; have experience in coordinating with the multiple child/youth serving systems; and have strong knowledge of childhood development and complex mental health needs of children, youths and families. They will also understand and be passionate about serving the Latinx community in Washington County.

Bilingual Positions:
Designated bilingual positions require that the incumbent have knowledge of the Spanish language, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Skill in writing Spanish accurately; ability to speak Spanish fluently; and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing are required. If you possess these skills, you are encouraged to apply. An additional $75/per pay period for bilingual skills will be paid to qualified employees. Pay periods are every two weeks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:


  • A Master’s Degree in a clinical field related to the diagnosis, etiology and treatment of mental health disorders; AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible mental health experience in assisting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in accessing needed services and support; AND
  • Must be certified by the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Professional or hold an approved clinical license and meet the criteria of a Qualified Mental Health Professional as defined in the Oregon Administrative Rules.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements :

  • Bilingual positions will require the ability to speak, read, write, and translate Spanish into English and English into Spanish.

Selection Process:
1. An evaluation of training and experience of submitted application packets will be performed by Human Resources.

3. The final candidate will be invited to take both written and oral Spanish language aptitude examinations. To be considered for a bilingual position, candidates will also be required to pass both examinations prior to placement in the position. Please note: additional compensation is provided to staff members occupying positions designated as bilingual.

Management, Administrative and Professional Personnel System (MAPPS) - FLSA exempt employees are paid on a salaried basis. The premise of salaried/exempt employment is that established compensation recognizes the time and effort needed to accomplish all assigned job duties. Job responsibilities may require work outside of the employee's standard work week or a work week in excess of 40 hours.

Regular and limited duration full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and job share employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first of the month following employment.
