Billing and Coding Specialist Job at QuickVisit
Summary:
QuickVisit Urgent Care is hiring for a full-time Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, familiarity with medical coding and possess the skills necessary to improve our current billing and collection processes. The role will have significant responsibility for successful claims submission and payor/patient collections, and will include related data reporting and analysis, patient engagement and regular interaction with our third-party billing company.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as lead liaison with third party billing company and monitor, audit and remediate claims submissions, patient billings and ultimate collections.
- Work claims and claim denials, in conjunction with third party billing company, to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.
- Improve collections by making payment arrangements with patients, collecting accounts, and monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts.
- Serve as the QuickVisit point of contact for patient billing questions.
- Complete medical record requests, as necessary.
- Coordinate with our compliance department to ensure that processes are in place to detect non-compliant or questionable claims.
- Reports on key billing and collections metrics daily, weekly and monthly
Skills and Qualifications
- Associate Degree preferred
- Certified Professional Biller or Certified Professional Coder preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in a medical office with experience in claims, billing, insurance, and medical records is an asset
- Working knowledge of healthcare insurance rules and guidelines
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Able to multi-task and meet guidelines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to resolve conflict
