Kros-Wise is actively looking for a self-motivated Business Development and Proposal Manager with proven results within the federal market with expertise in the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically within the Department of the Navy (DoN).

The Business Development and Proposal Manager will be a key driver of growth in Kros-Wise's company portfolio. The Business Development and Proposal Manager will focus on full range of business development activities from relationship building/maturation through capture management strategies as well as proposal development and submission. The candidate will report directly to the President and will work closely with Kros-Wise's Senior Leaders and Program Managers. The Business Development and Proposal Manager will lead the development and execution of the company growth strategy, including winning new work, building relationships, participating in industry events and constructing proposals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with senior leaders to identify, refine, and execute Business Development Strategy
  • Participate in achieving yearly sales targets and build opportunity pipelines for out years
  • Responsible for identifying potential opportunities, arranging meetings, initiating marketing strategies, building and strengthening Kros-Wise relationships
  • Develop and execute effective business development/engagement call plans for meetings with target clients, program managers, and industry partners
  • Will support outreach to other military agencies, including assistance with building new partnerships and communication strategies; developing methods to expand the customer base; and developing strategies to help ensure consistent, efficient, and effective solutions
  • Prepare, present, and mature opportunities using the Internal Business Development and Capture Management Processes of Kros-Wise
  • Represent Kros-Wise at industry events
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including other business development and capture team members, client executives, proposal managers, corporate infrastructure departments and program management teams to ensure effective, efficient, and integrated implementation of Kros-Wise's capture strategies
  • Assist in the development of successful pricing strategies, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements with Program and Proposal Managers on win themes
  • Write proposals for Information Technology and Engineering Services and to collect competitive intelligence
  • Prepare content for various proposal types (RFI/Sources Sought, RFP/RFQ). Perform research and analysis on proposal documents in order to compile fully verified content that is clear, concise and compliant
  • Interview SMEs, and write content based on information received
  • Interface and manage teaming partners for existing relationship as well as developing potential future partners for upcoming opportunities
  • Meet or exceed established performance goals in support of overall corporate growth and success
Requirements


BA/BS degree is required

  • 7+ years of experience, 3 of which in the DoN environment; federal contracting/business development/capture management experience is a must
  • Knowledge of Comm Professional Services Market/Industry Base.
  • Must have a demonstrated/verifiable track record of proven success in the design and implementation of sound business development and capture strategies, as well as successful pursuit of opportunities within the DoN
  • Direct experience identifying and leading the capture of multiple mid ($15M+) to large scale deals ($50M+) within the federal market
  • Experience capturing Full and Open, ID/IQ, Multiple Award, and BPA contracts and task orders
  • Working knowledge of the Congressional process for authorization and appropriations.
  • Successful proposal writing experience
  • Must have a mature and active network of contacts relevant to the DoN market and the contractor industry that supports and operates within those markets
  • Proven track record in building accomplished teams, developing and selling solutions, and executing strategic campaigns
  • Experience building and maintaining high-level relationships and demonstrated ability to prospect and close new customers
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving business organization
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
