Summary:

Aquatech is a global leader in water purification systems technology for both industrial and infrastructure markets located in the United States and internationally. We support our clients with sustainable water purification systems and technologies that are solving the worlds water scarcity challenges.

Aquatech has an immediate need for a fulltime Buyer to work in our Canonsburg, PA office. The hours are Monday Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Buyer will report to the Procurement Manager and will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement specifically within the technical commodities industry valves, pumps, vessels, and other water treatment equipment. This candidate will have savvy negotiation skills, be highly organized, a relationship builder, customer service driven, and a team player.

Job Description:

• Purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems in a timely manner.
• Copies data and compiles records and reports.
• Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
• Purchases supplies.
• Data entry of all purchase orders.
• Assisting other departments when it is required.
• Reviews requisitions.
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Receives and contacts vendors to find out status of an order.
• Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
• Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues with need purchase items.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Traveling when needed to meet project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelors degree (Business, science, or applied science preferred).
• Three (3) years experience in purchasing (procurement) of technical commodities

Skill Requirements:

• Ability to get quotations from vendors for projects & review them.
• Ability to negotiate supplier prices, purchase commodities for projects expediting to meet due date.
• Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage appropriate purchasing budget, check for missing material in the shop and follow up on partial deliveries.
• Ability to maintain budget reports.
• Ability to handle nonconformance with Quality department.
• Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
• Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
