Camp Director Job at Granite Summit

Granite Summit Running Springs, CA 92382

Camp Director

Pali Adventures, www.paliadventures.com, a best-in-class one-of-a-kind specialty summer camp, located in Southern California, is seeking a dynamic, creative, out of the box thinking director to lead us into the future.

This position is perfect for the person who feels a bit stagnant in their current position. For example, are you an Assistant Director looking for a growth opportunity? Maybe you are a current Summer Camp Director who is looking for the challenge and experience of a larger budget, more freedom and excitement.

This is not your average summer camp director position for five
reasons!

#1
Budget and creativity: You are given a substantial budget to manage and create the best summer camp experience imaginable. We are an expensive program whose goal is to consistently under promise and over deliver. We have 29 themed specialty programs ranging from trapeze and aerial arts to aviation and Hollywood Stunts. Our campers, fly in helicopters, jump from 40' towers, learn skills to become chefs, magicians, makeup artists, rock stars, secret agents, street artists and more, all before lunch!

#2
Specialization of duties: Pali Mountain has 70 year-round full time employees. We operate a robust Outdoor Education and Conference business from the start of September through the end of May. Because of the sites constant use and our company philosophy, we have year-round strong and competent, facilities, housekeeping, food and beverage, accounting, sales, marketing, and IT teams. This allows you to focus on producing the highest quality summer camp experience imaginable.

#3
Control: You will not be reporting to a board or micromanaged by an executive director. Once you have demonstrated you can manage your responsibilities, your program will be yours to run, as you see fit, only limited by your creativity, imagination, and spirit.

#4
Camp team and training: You also have the support of a qualified and experienced year-round assistant director to help you reinvent and improve the Pali program year after year. Pali provides an exhaustive, but most importantly fun in-depth training for our incoming summer staff. Meet some of the Pali Adventures team on our website! Depending on their level, training ranges from 2 weeks to just over a month.

#5
Housing: As part of your compensation package, you will be provided a quality 3 bedroom 2 ½ bath home in the town of Running Springs, close enough to camp so you can be there in a few minutes time as needed, but far enough away that you can really be at home when you are away.

Why is Pali
special?

The Pali concept is different than most other summer camps. We run one-week high octane, action packed, sessions, where kids have the time of their lives and leave exhausted! There is not much down time, our summer camp motto is, "Who needs sleep when you are having so much fun!"

To show the appeal to and demand for our program, we traditionally have campers attend from over 30 states and 30 countries each summer who come to explore many of our exciting specialty offerings. Our session size currently maxes out at 400 kids per week.

In short, the Summer Camp Director position is responsible for the development, oversight, and success of all of aspects of the Pali Adventures program from the minute campers arrive until the second they depart as well as all the planning, training and development that needs to happen to make this a success!
