Job Summary: The purpose of this safety sensitive position is to maintain and repair Institute structures and facilities.

This is a full-time benefited position and will be posted until filled.

Employee must safely perform the following essential duties:

  • Complete various construction and carpentry projects (drywall, concrete, painting, door/window repair, siding)
  • Assist with general maintenance of all Institute facilities
  • Assist with roof repairs
  • Assist with grounds and general maintenance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Employee must demonstrate the following competency or position requirements:

  • Closely follow instructions to ensure high degree of safety for self and others
  • Know high risk areas (under/above ground utility lines, fiber optics, etc.) and associated safety rules, regulations, etc.
  • Safely operate tools of the trade
  • Know and apply applicable safety standards, guidelines, training, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain excellent team-minded attitude
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexible work schedule

Employee must be able to perform the following physical tasks:

  • Stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours per day)
  • Lift up to 150lbs.
  • Bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, reach, and climb ladder

Employee must safely and properly tolerate the following environmental factors:

  • Loud noises associated with job duties
  • Smells and odors related to job duties
  • Exposure to outdoors, water, chemicals, fumes, smoke, grease, oil, dust, shavings, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Required Experience: Experience is a Plus
  • Work Schedule: Varies

Preferred Requirements:

  • Trade or Technical school preferred
  • 5 yrs commercial or residential house building experience
  • Salary Range: $41,000-$47,000 annually dependent upon experience.
