PIBLY Residential Programs, Inc. is a Bronx-based, not-for-profit, voluntary organization certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health. It operates residential programs which provide rehabilitative and support services to adults suffering from mental illness.
POSITION: Substance Abuse Counselor
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist residents in attaining and maintaining sobriety (includes alcohol, illicit substances, sex, gambling, etc.).
PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide individual counseling for assigned residents (monthly minimally) and be available to all program clients.
2. Participate in weekly staff meetings.
3. Facilitate substance abuse group(s) twice weekly.
4. Develop liaisons with regulatory agencies inpatient detox and rehab programs.
5. Assess clients for other treatment needs (e.g. inpatient detox, rehab, long-term MICA programs, etc.) as requested by Program Director.
6. Documentation of all individual and group services.
7. Facilitate referrals to inpatient and outpatient detox programs.
8. Facilitate referrals to inpatient rehab programs.
9. Serve as a resource to all staff in the area of addiction.
10. Attend annual anti-sexual harassment training.
