Position: Credential Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)

Reports to: Program Director

Requirements: High School Diploma (GED)

CASAC Certification or CASAC T

Criminal Check Approval

General Responsibilities:

Perform all CASAC assigned task necessary for the operations of the program.

Primary Task and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains primary tenant case load of 4.

2. Maintains weekly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual documentations.

3. Collaborates with outside Health Care providers and connect tenants with services.

4. Conducts Smoking Assessments to monitor tenants’ stages of changes.

5. Conducts Employment Assessment while assisting tenants in finding jobs, retirement, or reestablishing careers.

6. Conducts Self-Preservation Assessments to monitor tenant’s ability to self- preserve.

7. Conducts Substance abuse counseling in both groups and individual setting.

8. Refers clients to both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse programs.

9. Meets with Program Director upon identifying issues or concerns to seek guidance and support for best treatment plan.

10. Provides onsite coverage as needed.

11. Participate in annual anti-sexual harassment training
