Job Description:

The Case Manager is responsible for providing support and guidance to the family members while monitoring all aspects of participation in the WATCh Program. The goal of the Case Manager is to ensure family members adhere to program and societal rules while establishing a release plan supporting a crime free lifestyle.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs case management and counseling duties for family members.
  • Meets with each family member for individual sessions on a weekly as determined by program phase and the direction of the Clinical Treatment Supervisor.
  • Assists family members with the development of an appropriate, objective contract which delineates what the family member will accomplish while in WATCh, associated time lines, detail plans for accomplishing goals, and documentation of compliance with the contract.
  • Evaluates family member performance, presenting assessments at regular reviews and translating evaluations into behavioral ratings according to established operating procedures.
  • Assists family members with establishing suitable parole or release plans in accordance with the requirements of the Montana Board of Pardons and Parole, the local Probation and Parole Office.
  • Investigates and compiles written reports concerning alleged rule infractions by family members as required.
  • Serves on disciplinary adjustment committees to mediate house rule violations and correct non-adaptive behavior.
  • Completes reports required by the Clinical Treatment Supervisor including, but not limited to, complete and accurate case notes, monthly progress reports on each assigned family member, Parole Board reports, monthly chronological reports and termination reports.
  • Maintains all required case records and Manages file materials within the limits of confidentiality requirements.
  • Meets with assigned resident assistants on a weekly basis to disseminate appropriate caseload information.
  • Intervenes and assists in crisis management.
  • Attends staff and program meetings as required by supervisory staff and CCCS, Inc. corporate policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge & responsibility in performance of duties as prescribed by facility procedures. Has an understanding of the addiction process. Has a strong belief in change.
  • Applies the appropriate practices in Intake, Discharge, Contractor Reports, Individual Sessions, Risk Assessment, Motivational Interviewing, and Social Learning Theory
  • Understands and applies EBP in daily duties (reinforces, post monitoring, social learning theory and cognitive behavioral therapy.)
  • Works well under pressure and maintains self-control.
  • Motivates and works well with residents.
  • Receptive to change and new ideas.
  • Is receptive to clinical supervision and demonstrates an ability to apply and master clinical supervision recommendations.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Clinical Treatment Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to assess priorities and work well under pressure; excellent time-management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with contacts, the public, co-workers professionally and tactfully.
  • Professional and businesslike in appearance and demeanor.
  • Knowledge of computers and appropriate software packages.

Licenses/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Sciences or appropriate Behavioral Science field. (Required)
  • Case management or counseling experience in a correctional or human service type position (2 years or more required)
  • Experience working with adult offenders and/or experience working in a residential addictions treatment facility. (Preferred)
  • Experience working in a therapeutic community. (Preferred)
  • Education or experience with Cognitive Restructuring (CR), Criminal Thinking Errors (CTE), or other correctional programming. (Preferred)

Required Annual Training:
Employees new to CCCS, Inc. are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training relevant to their position during the first year of employment. Case Managers are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training during each year of employment. A minimum of thirty (30) of the hours must include training specific to the employment assignment. Additional training hours may be required for disciplinary, emergency, or program-need reasons as determined by the Treatment Supervisor.
