We currently need reliable part-time cashiers with somewhat flexible availability for a maximum of 30 hours per week. Weekend availability is required. We need Cashiers who will be staying through the school year. Flexible availability is best.

We are currently looking for an opening cashier and a mid-day to close cashier.

Average Shift Times:

8am-3pm

3pm-9pm

Part-time cashiers who are responsible and have availability that meets our needs may be moved into full-time positions as they open up if desired after 1 year of employment.

A cashier must be able to:

• Communicate and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

• Efficiently performs Cash Transactions using proper cash handling methods (with "to the penny" accuracy).

• Use cash registers/POS with speed and efficiency.

• Keeps the checkout area clean and organized.

• Scan, sort, and bag purchased merchandise

• Understand the products that we carry and have a working knowledge of P.L.U. information

• Call for assistance w/Customer Carry-outs, returns, and as needed for effective customer service

• Maintain an adequate supply of register and bagging supplies at check-out area as needed

• Stay informed of changes in store policies and methods

Other Functions:

• Performs other duties assigned by Store Manager or Supervisor.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

• Ability to handle up to 50lb cases, containers, and bags

• Standing for up to seven hours

• The job involves repetitive tasks.

• Exposure to food ingredients and cleaning agents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience preferred but not required.

• Responsible cash handling: able to perform mathematical calculations using an electronic POS system/cash register/calculator and accurately record and reconcile transactions.

• Able to handle cash with honesty and with the utmost integrity.

• Must be able to follow directions.

• Must have a familiarity with produce. Is best if you have a working knowledge of natural products and brands, and a commitment to continuous growth and education.
