Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a Chemical Warehouse and Tank Truck Loader who, with minimal supervision, performs all operations in the GSH (Geismar System Hub) Bulk Tank Truck handling, Packaged Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse areas and tank farm.

Chemical Warehouse and Tank Truck Loader, North Geismar

As a Chemical Warehouse and Tank Truck Loader for the GSH Unit, you will be responsible for conducting the daily activities related to the loading/unloading of both bulk and packaged finished goods and raw materials for the Polyurethane Systems production warehouse facility.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success: You Will…


Responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:

    Works within the scope of procedures and instructions to load and unload raw materials and finished products from tank trucks and semi-trailers.

    Facilitate the transfer of raw materials and finished products to and from vessels including, tank trucks, drums, and totes for storage in our warehouse.

    Performs safety checklists on a routine basis and actively participates and supports the safety and LEAN programs.

    Understands fundamental concepts of shipping operations including the operation of Dok Lok restraint and fall protection systems, dock doors, in-line tuning fork and over fill protection instrumentation.

    Consistently and accurately documents all loading and unloading using SAP and transfer sheet including tank trailer numbers, lot numbers, seal numbers, products, raw materials, and quantities.

    Interacts and communicates via phone/radio/person with lab technicians, instrument technicians, GSH operators and Lead Operator to troubleshoot problems in the shipping areas.

    Mitigates spills, leaks, and other plant emergencies using the proper PPE and emergency response procedures.

    Assists with the packaging of finished products from blending vessels into totes or drums using semi-automatic packaging systems

    Performs small maintenance repairs and assists maintenance mechanics in larger repairs as needed.

    Participates in and complies with all training and development activities.

    Performs other job duties as workload dictates or assigned by Lead Operator.

    Maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record.

Basic Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED required

Preferred Qualifications

    Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing industry experience PTEC or other post-secondary technical program preferred Strong technical and mechanical aptitude Warehouse and dock forklift experience.
