About the Program:


In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to improving WRI’s institutional capacity and program delivery by working within our single largest corporate partnership. The Climate Solutions Partnership is a collaboration between WRI, WWF, and HSBC that seeks to accelerate the transition to a net zero nature positive future by playing an active role in mobilizing the finance and solutions needed to bend the curve on biodiversity loss and keep temperature rises to 1.5 degrees or lower. Through work across 4 thematic areas and with staff in more than 6 countries, our teams are developing and delivering solutions to accelerate the energy transition, scale nature-based solutions and build sustainable supply chains with greater access to finance. These solutions will aim to mitigate climate change while delivering gains for people and nature.


Job Highlight:

Working with the team’s Project Managers, you will develop, test, and implement new strategies for cross-cutting partnership coordination and peer learning processes and tools. You will support the strengthening of the partnership’s formal and informal PMEL (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) processes, building an important skill set for future project-related positions. In support of knowledge management initiatives, you will document and synthesize project assets, key findings and learnings to improve performance. You will also support the development and execution of a discrete number of energy- and NBS- related financial sector capacity building projects through event support, partner engagement, and/or project coordination activities with internal and external partners around the world. If desired, there may be opportunity to coauthor internal and external communications, information, and/or data visualization products related to your work.

What will you do:


  • Monitoring and Evaluation (40%): Ensure Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (PMEL) best practices and innovative methods for standardizing and implementing them within a complex global partnership. Specific activities may include:
    • Work closely with the Program Manager to implement, refine and maintain consistent data capture methods for indicators and systematic collection protocols and processes from all relevant staff and partners. Coordinate with international offices and partners to ensure data is collected on time and entered in a timely manner. This includes tracking documents, ensuring data quality, and troubleshooting as needed.
    • Assist in development of learning agenda and action plan. Capture, refine, and share lessons learned, knowledge products and content, and illustrative stories from across the partnership’s work programs and locations. Assist in the creation of internal and external outreach and communications materials, including data visualizations, progress reports, presentations, spreadsheets, case studies, learning briefs, success stories, news pieces, and workshop materials.
    • Support the planning and execution of internal and external meetings, workshops, and events in support of PMEL processes and cross-partnership learning.
    • Develop and test lessons learned and risk mitigation repository.
    • Explore new ways to enhance performance data, extract lessons and communicate information (such as outcome harvesting, new ways to gather stories, or present data in dashboards)

Knowledge Partnership Project Coordination (30%):

  • Support CSP event-planning process and logistics, such as knowledge sharing workshops, financial sector trainings, energy pillar events, conferences, and attendance at global events
  • Coordinate expert inputs to partner requests for advising, meeting and event talking points, and scoping processes
  • Assist with the development of meeting agendas, dossiers, PowerPoints, and other relevant materials to ensure alignment with CSP objectives, coordinating with partners to ensure a consistent message
  • Support appropriate pre- and post-event evaluations, follow-up actions, and distilling of lessons learned from knowledge partnership engagements
  • Identify opportunities and execute actions to improve operational efficiency
  • Provide overall support to the Project Manager, Knowledge Partnership Manager, and Corporate Relations Director
Driving Learning into Business Engagement Support (30%):
  • Working with technical experts in the Forests and/or Energy teams, support the development and execution of financial sector capacity building publications and engagement campaigns aimed at unblocking barriers to commercial finance for sustainable solutions. Your contributions may include the following:
  • Coordinating the refinements and review of knowledge and communications products, working with WRI’s Research and Data teams; potentially contributing research to knowledge products
  • Conducting global and regional stakeholder and partner mapping, outreach, and/or engagement
  • Planning and executing high level convenings and/or capacity building events and webinars on sustainable finance
What will you need:
  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in international relations, international development, environmental studies, NGO management, public administration, or related field
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 2 years full-time professional experience in performance monitoring, collecting and analyzing data, and working with teams to identify project results and maximize impact
  • You have an interest in, and/or familiarity with, corporate and/or financial-sector sustainability and leadership or nonprofit project management
  • You have experience coordinating events, monitoring event timelines to ensure smooth execution of activities
  • You have demonstrated ability to work well in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, set and manage multiple priorities, take initiative, solve problems, and work under tight deadlines
  • You have demonstrated ability to present complex information in written and verbal form in a clear and concise manner
  • You have strong software skills including high level of comfort with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based communications (e.g., Skype, etc.)
Potential Salary:


The salary range for this position is 57,000 USD - 65,000 USD.
Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
