We are looking for a Clinical Operations and Business Development Specialist to join a diverse team who brings knowledge and skills from a variety of backgrounds. This critical role supports the company’s vision and direction for the clinical care being delivered to patients by providing patient care, consultation services, training and education, leadership coverage and the management of special projects inclusive of startups, transitions or trouble shooting locations.

What You’ll Do:

General Oversight

  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations, Regional Director and the multidisciplinary team to develop and foster a patient-care culture that emphasizes patient safety and excellence in all aspects of patient care
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current clinical practice and subsequent regulatory requirements
  • Support current program operations in the field by supporting troubleshooting and program enhancements
  • Prepare and presents reports and recommendations to senior leadership regarding services to provide concise and accurate information that aids in decision-making
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment where all staff work together as a team to improve practice operations
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, Mediko policies and accepted nursing protocols and procedures
  • Promotion of and adherence to all contractual obligations, Policies and Guidelines
  • Promotion of and adherence to NCCHC and ACA standards
  • Provide leadership to other staff, as warranted.

Education & Training

  • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees
  • Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations regarding privacy of inmate patient medical information
  • Uphold all rules and regulations governing patient confidentiality
  • Maintain working knowledge of emergency procedures in the event of emergency or crisis situations and assist as procedures warrant
  • Adhere to security standards for medications, supplies and equipment
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Participate in CQI activities, if requested
  • Oversee quality assurance and infection control activities and compliance to operational standards
  • Follow time record procedures, as established by MEDIKO and the corrections authority
  • Comply with Infection Control Policies/Procedures

  • Assess personal and learning development needs; plan and implement program to meet identified needs through in-service attendance and other formal and informal means
  • Demonstrate knowledge and perform tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures; supports philosophy, objective and goals of the medical unit

Special Projects

  • Support special projects as assigned (i.e. RFP response preparation, delivery, follow up, etc.)
  • Attend facility and corporate meetings, as required or requested
  • Assist other team members with their work, as necessary
  • Approach changes in a positive manner, motivate staff to work as a team, accept constructive criticism and learn from it
  • Serve as corporate staff education initiatives
  • Serve as interim site and regional management positions
  • Serve as a troubleshooter supporting programs in various states of transition and development
  • Support COREMR development and improvements
  • Other duties as assigned


What We Require:

  • Minimum of one-year experience in an acute care setting, emergency room or correctional setting
  • Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program. BSN degree preferred
  • Active state/commonwealth registered nursing licensure
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a correctional setting
  • Subject to security clearance by the assigned facility(s)
  • Subject to background investigation by correctional agency as a requisite for initial and/or continued employment
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing
  • Proof of COVID Vaccination
