Collection System Operator

Rogue Valley Sewer Services (RVSS) is actively recruiting a sewer Collection System Operator. RVSS is a regional provider of sanitary sewer and stormwater services for several cities and unincorporated areas in Jackson County, Oregon.

Essential Functions

This position works under the direction of the Operations and Maintenance Manager. The primary function of the work involves the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer and storm drain infrastructure. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintenance of underground pipes, including flushing and television inspections
• Maintenance and repair of wastewater pumps
• Sewer repair and construction
• Operation of heavy equipment

Auxiliary Functions

• Assist with the operation of wastewater treatment plant
• Provide routine maintenance for vehicles and equipment
• Provide routing maintenance for buildings and grounds.

Job Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Oregon Driver’s license

Working Conditions

• Work activities take place outside of buildings with exposure to all types of weather conditions. Work is occasionally done at night. Work includes exposure to sewage, bio-hazards, traffic, dirt, oil, grease, fumes, noise and chemicals. Work requires occasional use of respirators and confined space entry.

Compensation

Pay scale $24.23 to $27.25 per hour
