Position Title: Commercial Support Specialist

Position Responsibilities
The Commercial Support Specialist is focused on assisting and providing support for various commercial and external marketing initiatives for new and existing business opportunities that grow the Beacon Mobility footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage tradeshow strategies/calendar, event planning and coordination.
    • Register respective brand for each local and/or national show company plans to attend;
    • Complete ordering of show services, coordinate handling and shipping of collateral;
    • Manage, track, and ensure vendor timelines are met and process payment requests.;
    • Research and provide hotel and venue information to team; and
    • Research/order promotional giveaways for each respective brand/show.
  • Interact with all areas of the organization including Business Development, Operations, and Communications and new business partner prospects.
    • Research, analyze, and monitor demographic and technological factors to assess market opportunities that may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity that may be minimized;
    • Assist in the identification and assessment of opportunities;
    • Conduct independent research on accounts and/or opportunities, emerging issues, competitor positioning, and operational priorities;
    • Research and analyze information from a range of sources and synthesizes that information to determine the relevance and effect on the company, employees, and stakeholders;
    • Assist in gathering data/content from respective Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for proposal responses;
      • Ensure responses are received or followed up on to meet varying due dates;
      • Ensure key ideas and benefits will be evident to evaluators;
      • Generate proposal text;
      • Ensure the proper contextual integrity of each completed proposal section by coordinating with the respective SME/contributor; and
      • Provide initial review and edit of all proposal graphics and text inputs, and suggest iterative draft changes as needed; and
    • Assist with the collaborative development of materials so proposals are responded to within prescribed time-frames.
    • Responds to new business opportunity inquiries and requests for information with knowledgeable, developed and articulate responses; and
  • Coordinates initial entry, updates, and tracking of new business opportunities in Salesforce CRM database.
    • Conducts research on prospective opportunities through preparing, tracking, and following up on freedom of information requests and updating CRM database; and
    • Searches for daily release notices of RFPs through various sources for timely follow up; and
    • Conducts initial contact to prospects for RFP documents, prepares and submits questions and information requests within prescribed timelines, and tracks follow up; and
    • Assists with new business opportunity due diligence including conducting market research and analyzing details provided from various sources into spreadsheets, reports, or other tools; and
  • Execute the delivery of business development support – e.g. collateral, case studies, etc.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and implementation of best practices within the department and across the organization.
  • Misc. administrative duties that may arise at any given time.
Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field required and/or 2-5 years of experience in commercial/business development.
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills with an understanding of passenger transportation.
  • Experience in the preparation and execution of sales proposals.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A high sense of urgency, ability to prioritize and adapt and thrive with change.
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and strong follow-up.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective consultative and influencing approach, with proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Saleforce, other CRM tools, or using databases.
Experience with design software, e.g. In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, (or similar program) is preferred
