Position Summary

The Community Connections Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Shiloh Adventures' development and fundraising initiatives in conjunction with the Executive Director including resource partner and volunteer relations, grant writing, in-kind gifts, the major gifts program, monthly reoccurring giving, planned giving, special events, capital campaigns, social media/promotional efforts, and property usage promotions. The CCD works closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. We will partner with the Lord to receive His Abundant Life Provision!

Responsibilities

  • Establish Development Plan in conjunction with Executive Director
  • Grant Proposal Preparation – Research grants that fit the current and actual proposed Shiloh program and review existing grants and apply for them according to their schedule
  • Event Planning – Fall fundraiser; donor Desserts/Shiloh Lunch Friend-raisers
  • Manage the Shiloh office email
  • Manage social media accounts. Cultivate the presence of Shiloh online! (update weekly – daily in the summer)
  • Oversee existing website and ensure that necessary updates are made. Ensure ease of donating and needs are current and posted
  • Donor and Potential Donor Visits – Set up visits with Executive Director and tours of Shiloh. Goal would be to see all major donors on Key Prospect list before April 30th
  • Donor New Software – Manage donor data base through Donorview. Keep updated information and profiles including all donor transactions in database
  • Donor Thanks and Giving Receipts mailed out in a timely manner
  • Create and ensure a consistent and cohesive communication of the Shiloh “brand” throughout all publications and communications across the ministry
  • Monthly Donor Campaign – Manage and acquire monthly Donor Campaign with a an ultimate goal of $25,000 per month
  • Church Monthly Donor – Develop church relationships for monthly support
  • Newsletter – Produce newsletter, and letters (content/interviews, stories, articles, pictures, stats, etc.) according to schedule. Let’s get our stakeholders close to the people!
  • Volunteer Coordinator - Host guests and give property tours - Schedule volunteer projects and visits. Manage Crew52 meal providers: Book for each meal and snacks. Greet them upon arrival, send thank-you’s and acknowledgements and recognize in newsletter

To-Do List and Development Priorities:

  • Top goals are monthly givers to $25,000 per month
  • Support marketing/social media plan to generate revenue through ropes and facility usage
  • To retain current donors through personalized care and communication regularly, to convert volunteers/vendors, friends, and new friends to investors (donors in the mission of Shiloh)
  • Establish Overall Development Plan and goals according to budget (See ED for thought and directions)
  • Send out hard copy mail out with request for contact information (specifically email, phone numbers, and address) “Help Shiloh save money and stay connected!”
  • Establish monthly email to donors and key stakeholders
  • Newsletter 1. Gather content (articles, interviews of kids, parents, board members, Ascend Leadership participants, donors/volunteers, ministry Partners) 2. Graphics and set-up 3. Bulk Mail set-up and mail out in conjunction with Office Manager
  • Scholarship Camping April 21st: Send Deron and Diamond to Camp (Goal is to Scholarship 4 weeks of Kids Camp)
  • Event Planning: Primary lead on Spring fundraising event and pursue possibilities of creative fundraising events throughout the year
  • Schedule Donor Visits: Tuesday Breakfast or Lunch-and-Learns
  • Property Usage: Assist on marketing and promotion of the adventure course for fundraising purposes
  • Ascend Leadership Program – Set up locations, speakers, Food Advance Contacts with potential candidates for consideration for 2023
  • Seek program sponsor for 2023

Qualifications

  • Must embrace the mission of Shiloh Adventures
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Have knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising
  • Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers
  • Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships
  • Be a “self-starter” and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
  • Be organized and exhibit follow-through on tasks and goals
  • Display a positive attitude; show concern for people and community; demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Event Planning experience
  • Grant Writing experience desired
  • 5 years experience in fundraising

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
