Position Announcements: Full-time Community Health Workers (CHW)
The Jackson County Health Department is accepting applications for Community Health Workers (CHWs). CHWs will be responsible for improving community health literacy, utilizing evidence-based programs to create community change, assisting with COVID response including participating in vaccine clinics, helping those with chronic illnesses navigate and access community services, and adopt healthy behaviors. This project is expected to be funded through August 2024, unless future funding can be secured.
Qualifications:
Successful candidate must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Employment is contingent on the completion of CHW training and obtaining a CHW certification.
CHW training will be provided during the first three months of employment.
Persons who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 need not apply. Preference will be given to candidates who live in and represent the community served.
Benefits:
The Jackson County Health Department offers an excellent benefits package that includes: health and life insurance, paid holidays, personal leave, vacation and sick leave. The wage will be $14.00 per hour for 40 hours of work per week. This position will be part of a Collective Bargaining Unit.
