Assist the Centralized Control Testing Manager with the development, implementation and maintenance of the Centralized Control Testing program as well as performing assigned control tests. Help with the organization and planning of periodic testing of Bank non-FDICIA control activities. Carryout control testing including the review of control descriptions, test plans, and control evidence to assess the adequacy of the internal control.

Essential Functions:

Work with control owners and First Line of Defense (1LoD) Control Managers to create effective controls for the Bank.

Understand and utilize the Control Testing Methodology when performing control tests including testing frequencies, sampling approach, documentation, etc.

Perform ongoing testing of controls as part of the Second Line of Defense (2LoD) ensuring design effectiveness and control execution.

Work with control owners to establish control descriptions, proactively engage with control owners in preparing for a control test, communicate with control owners during a testing event, work with control owners when establishing control gap action plans

Assist in maintaining a list of control gap (issues) action plans inside of the LSB GRC tool and proactively work with control owners to ensure timely remediation.

Verify remediation plans for control deficiencies are being handled properly and efficiently.

Support validation of new controls through a “design observation” or “test of one”.

Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the controls and control effectiveness within the LSB GRC tool helping to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Identify & provide recommendations on ways to improve workflows and develop efficiencies within control processes.

Appraise the adequacy and effectiveness of corrective action taken to resolve control deficiencies and document as required by internal processes.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by Management.

Necessary Skills and Attributes

High School diploma or GED; Associates degree in accounting preferred

2+ years in a position of monitoring performance against stated requirements (e.g., quality assurance, internal audit, etc.)

Experience working in a financial institution a plus

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Highly detail-oriented

Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities

Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
