The company is rapidly growing and looking for Automation Engineers at all levels. In this role, you will take on the responsibilities listed below while under supervision of the automation team lead that will also provide mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed design of industrial control systems including control panel design, networking design, and field device specification.
  • Interpret P&ID, Process Flows, Specifications, and other system design documentation to use as the basis of control system design and programming.
  • Provide control panel designs compliant with UL508A and UL698.
  • Create I/O lists, specifications, test procedures, manuals, and other project documentation as needed.
  • Create and document control system PLC/HMI/SCADA programs using modular and reusable programming techniques.
  • Configure and program control system devices such as managed Ethernet switches, protocol converters, VFDs, and other controllers.
  • Participate in client meetings to gain experience in the defining of scope and functional and operational requirements for PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to develop professionally through direct mentorship and personally sourced academics.
  • Assist the team with analyzing current systems and design/implement solutions to resolve complex technical integration issues.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills supporting sound technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of industrial control systems, motor control, and field instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with PLC programs using RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View SE, and PlantPAx.
  • Knowledge of or experience with RSLogix 500, Step 7 and TIA Portal, and Unity Pro also beneficial.
  • Familiar with HMI/SCADA screens, preferably using Ignition, FactoryTalk View, iFix, or Wonderware.
  • Knowledge of UL508A Industrial Control Panel requirements and collaborate with CAD department to produce drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet/IP industrial communication protocol.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Modbus TCP, Modbus Serial, Profibus, Profinet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet also beneficial.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and databases.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizen or have legal right to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Work occasional start-ups which may include extended working hours.
  • Travel up to 20-30% of the time. Most start-ups are local or regional travel and are typically 2 weeks or less in duration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent education/experience.
  • 2+ years of programming experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA applications.
  • 2+ years of experience designing industrial control panels and associated networking.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
