Cook Job at Lakeview Village
Job Purpose
Prepares and cooks basic food items in a cafeteria or restaurant environment according to Lakeview recipes, while following Local, State, and Federal regulations and Lakeview policy. Responsible for following instructions and carrying out assignments properly.
Qualifications and Skills
GED or High School Graduation is preferred.- At least three years of cooking experience are preferred.
- Obtainment of Food Handler Permit within 15 days of employment start date is strongly encouraged.
- Must be able to read written documents, including but not limited to Hazardous Materials labels, job check lists, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ability to work irregular hours.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed, straight-forward written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to perform tasting and or/smelling of food items.
- Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
- Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
