Cook/House Manager - Live-On Property Job at MAHLER PRIVATE STAFFING
Executive couple with grown children and a beautiful home in Southampton needs a full-time, year-round Cook/House Manager to join their long-term household staff, as their House Manager of many years is moving back to their family. This is a live-on property position, complete with your own large 2-bedroom, 2-bath fully renovated and furnished apartment including a kitchen and a private entrance on the family's Southampton property. Accommodations are suitable for a couple, and the family would welcome having the House Manager's partner or spouse live onsite as well.
The family spends most of July through Labor Day at the residence and, in the off-season, they will come out for several long (3-4 day) weekends. During the summer, they usually have 4-6 larger dinner parties for around 20 guests and always hire sous chefs, servers, etc. The hours will be longer in the summers, but they do enjoy eating out quite a bit, so the work week is balanced.
Their ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, organized, and flexible. They will also be kind, loyal, and have high standards.This person will represent the principals in the community, on the phone, with guests, etc., so must be as gracious as they are!
The primary responsibilities include:
- Planning and cooking simple healthy meals, sourcing locally during the season; they want a talented and capable cook, but do not need a trained chef
- Scheduling and overseeing their trusted long-term vendors to maintain the property
- Caring for two motorcycles and cars
- Taking loving care of their beloved cats.
- The ability to speak conversational Spanish a plus!
- Familiarity with an AGA range is a big plus or willing to learn.
The Cook/House Manager is entitled to:
