Role Overview:
The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for the Firm’s corporate entities.
Responsibilities:
Periodic Reporting of Assigned HarbourVest (HV) management company entity
- Comprehensive oversight and monitoring of assigned management company entity
- Analyze financial data for accuracy, exception, and trends
- Prepare the general ledger closing including quarterly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee the fixed asset module and calculate depreciation
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements
- Work on fund expense allocations
- Collaborate in the Firm’s annual audit process
- Work in partnership with Legal & Regulatory Compliance to ensure that required filings are completed in a timely manner
- Work with management to improve processes associated with cash transactions
- Collaborate on intercompany reimbursements
Corporate Budgeting
- Participate in the annual budgeting process
- Produce reporting on historical budget data into presentations
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and partner across teams to propose and implement solutions
- Provide support on special projects as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of corporate accounting experience
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail
- Results oriented and innovative mindset
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Strives in a collegial and collaborative environment
- Private Equity experience is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite products including Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with financial platforms (i.e. Great Plains, Management Reporter)
- Experience with technology platforms is a plus (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)
