Southern Pipe & Supply, established in 1938, is one of the largest privately held, independent distributors of brand name plumbing, heating, air-conditioning (HVAC), industrial, mechanical, and water works supplies in the Southeast. We have over 120 locations in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee, and we are still growing.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, customer-driven Counter Sales Representative for our Shreveport, LA counter. As an Counter Sales Representative, your specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

· Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and vendors.

· Provide outstanding customer service by following up on orders and expediting when necessary.

· Provide friendly and helpful customer service.

· Support the warehouse, will call and delivery drivers to ensure a positive customer experience.

Unload/stock trucks, check in material and stock shelves

· Create and maintain a positive customer service culture.

· Source material and create non-stock purchase orders with vendors when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Must have the ability to effectively build rapport with both internal and external customers.

· Must have a positive attitude and the ability to function both independently and in a team setting.

· Requires strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.

· Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.

· Must have strong general computer skills, including MS Outlook and Excel.

· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, assign effective priorities to tasks, and operate with a certain level of autonomy.

· Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.

· Available to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as requested (including on-call).

Experience and Education:

· Prior customer service experience required.
