What you can expect to work on…
Upgrade and maintain existing 4⁰ K refrigerators and distribution systems in support of the production of radio isotopes utilizing linear particle accelerators as part of the radio pharmaceutical fight to stop cancer and save lives.

Essential functions
  • Work on design, construction, and installation of larger 4⁰ K refrigeration systems for production of Mo-99 and other fission products from uranium
  • Upgrade and maintain existing 4⁰ K refrigerators and distribution systems
  • Manage projects, leading designers and technicians.
  • Oversee inventory.
  • Perform test procedures to validate product quality and/or efficiency.
  • Write technical reports, papers, articles, and presentations.
  • Operate mechanical systems.

Required education and experience
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Working level understanding of core mechanical engineering topics including but not limited to: Thermodynamics, Engineering Controls, Water Cooling Systems, and Cryogenic Systems.
  • Experiences with liquid helium, liquid nitrogen, and helium refrigerators
  • Proficient in MS Office.
Preferred education and experience
  • BS, MS, or PhD in cryogenics, mechanical engineering or other technical field
  • Experience with water systems
  • 2 – 5 years of hands-on engineering experience in cryogenics and water systems, preferably in an R&D environment.
Physical Demands
The position operates in a professional office and industrial environments which includes the use of standard office equipment and/or machinery related to the production of medical isotopes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
