ROLE SUMMARY:

The Cultivation Director will assist the Regional Cultivation Director to ensure all plant production lines and the quality of output with a high degree of autonomy are smooth running. We expect the candidate to have significant know-how in management and manufacturing policies and procedures. The ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance is required.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage all employees in the cultivation division across multiple sites
  • Manage inventory levels, supply logistics, and vendor management
  • Oversee implementations of cultivation methods, policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with State law and Department of Health rules
  • Develop and implement year over year budgets for the cultivation division
  • Manage direct reports regarding implementation of the proper planting and harvesting schedules
  • Reduce expenses and increase productivity across all business units resulting in increased efficiencies
  • Ensure consistent onboarding and training of all cultivation new hires
  • Work cross-collaboratively to optimize retention levels within the cultivation department
  • Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines
  • Communicate schedules, status, issues, or obstacles to senior management
  • Implement start-up of new Cultivation Facilities and effectively capacity plan all facets of the growing, harvesting and driving processes
  • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising products safety or integrity
  • Guide leadership team with compliance of all company policies
  • Responsible for leading Lean manufacturing implementation with the assistance of the Continuous Improvement Team
  • Other duties as assigned


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in manufacturing operations
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Must have extensive knowledge on irrigation, injection and growing methods, including an in-depth knowledge of PH, PPM, and EC counts
  • Demonstrated proficiency of managing a $10+ million-dollar budget
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Preferred knowledge of all construction trades
  • Experience with Good Agricultural Practices and Good Handling Practices
  • Experience managing a large cannabis operation highly preferred
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well in a group setting
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and MRP systems


ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masts or graduate degree highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Decision Making and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)


WORK SCHEDULE:

40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
