POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analyst will provide technical and analytical support to the Population Health activities of Utica Park Clinic and to Hillcrest Healthcare System.

New Report Requests:
The Data Analyst is responsible for the creation and production of reports using established reporting protocols. The Data Analyst is responsible for reviewing the report requests assigned to them, communicating with the requestor to understand and clarify any questions regarding the report, evaluating the need for a new report creation or modifying an existing report to meet the requestor’s needs and coordinating the due dates and frequency of the report. Creating the query requested and working with the report requestor and the Manager of Data Analytics to generate the report within the timeframe needed. Data validation based on the criteria provided will be done with the requestor and make any need changes.

Standard Report Production
: Routine standard monthly reports will also be assigned and will be posted and distributed as established by protocols. Utilize other associated databases that are adjunct to the EPIC electronic records. Utilize Sharepoint and Teams as a report repository for general access for users. Refine and update reports as required for MIPS reporting.

Position collaborates with:
  • Administrative Staff including the Medical Director for Population Health
  • Providers, Clinic Managers, Administrative Directors and Care Management Staff
  • Members of the Population Health and Quality Improvement department teams
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares routine monthly data reports and analysis to support quality data reporting to UPC administration, Population Health and QI department, CMMI programs and other value-based programs as defined payers, and other outside reporting agency requirements.
  • Provides data aggregation by providers and format the data in graphic representation to present to the providers and administration on a monthly and quarterly basis. Develop clinical dashboards or other data visualization solutions including clinical, cost, and patient satisfaction data.
  • Integrates outside databases such as , Care Everywhere, MyHealth or other HIE, and EPIC EMR. Experience working with large clinical and/or administrative databases, including management and analysis
  • Demonstrates analytical and statistical abilities to evaluate data, make judgments, and recommendations regarding quality improvement work, including but not limited to resource utilization, physician practice patterns, and clinical pathway effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Associate/Bachelors in Analytics or equivalent experience
Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases (SQL)
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
  • Will be required to take and pass Epic Cogito Certification during their first 6 months in the Data Analyst position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving
  • Data Aggregation and analystis as well as generating graphs to help users
  • SQL report writing skills
  • Excel - Intermediate to Advanced skills
  • Epic EMR knowledge
  • HEDIS and CMS Quality metrics
