This position assures excellent dining room operations to residents with attentive, efficient waitstaff; maintains positive customer relations; assures full compliance with all dining standards and procedures. Ensures high cleanliness and sanitation of all food handling and dining rooms with appropriate staffing. This position reports to the Dining Room Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will be an effective leader who consistently demonstrates professionalism and customer service as a role model. Plans and organizes for the best dining operations while conforming to Kendal at Oberlin’s established standards for dining room protocols and consistent training of waitstaff. Presents well-groomed appearance and flexes to the needs of the service team, working hands-on when needed. Conducts training programs for waitstaff as assigned. Possesses ServSafe Certificate or achieves same within 90 days of hire. A degree in hospitality, food service management, or related field is preferred but not required in lieu of verified, extensive managerial experience in the food service field.
