Job Summary/Purpose
The Director of Billing Operations will play an integral role in helping Entergy achieve its ambition of becoming the premier utility by creating sustainable value for our four stakeholders: customers, employees, communities, and owners. Specifically, the Director of Billing will be tasked with leading the migration from a fragmented current state to a world-class, end-to-end solution provider.

This role is full of opportunities for creativity, innovation, and growth. Successful candidates will have experience building and leading finance shared services teams for an entity experiencing rapid change and transformation. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of solutions related to the systems, processes, people, migration path(s) and activity mapping necessary to ensure successful delivery of efficient and effective services.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
Lead a team of ~100 professionals with enterprise responsibility for Customer Billing for Residential and large C&I customers.
Aligning with the Company’s grid modernization efforts, the candidate will lead the migration of the finance shared services platform from the current state, fragmented organization, to a world-class end-to-end solution provider for Billing Ops.
  • Align and optimize customer-facing processes with the company’s digital strategy to improve billing accuracy and timeliness and improve the controls on corporate revenues.
  • Develop a culture of measurement, driving process optimization and continuous improvement that is clearly demonstrated through improved process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead change management initiatives related to finance services and processes: align leaders, manage resistance and work with key leaders to truly drive change
  • Play an active role in attracting, engaging, developing and rewarding the company’s shared services talent; sourcing, screening and securing top talent in the space that brings demonstrated track records of driving productivity and lean, end-to-end thinking
  • Model a culture that improves the organization’s comfort with the speed of change, challenging assumptions, relentless pursuit of improvement – all with a high sense of personal accountability
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that Shared Services goals are tightly aligned to the Company’s desired outcomes

Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required, graduate degree a plus

Minimum experience required of the position:
The successful candidate will be an established, high-energy finance leader with a proven track record of providing finance service solutions that drive breakthrough, strategic operational capabilities. Targeted candidates will have deep experience building / leading a finance shared services platform in a large company, and there is a strong preference for candidates who have direct experience within Utilities. S/he must be a collaborative change agent with a strong customer focus and a relentless drive to add value to the businesses served.
  • Deep experience in Finance and Accounting (, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to set vision and strategy, drive performance and consistently produce tangible results
  • Customer-focused leader with experience implementing large-scale process changes
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to complicated process issues in a fast-paced and demanding environment – all while building strong partnerships with stakeholders
  • Experienced working in a complex, heavily matrixed organization
  • Brings a focused cost management mind-set; proactively identifies opportunities to reduce costs and executes plans in a timely, efficient fashion
  • Sound judgement and ability to influence at all levels
  • Drive for results to exceed expectations and make a positive impact for our customers, employees, communities, and owners
