Director of Business Development/Capture Management - Aerospace & Defense will report to VP of Business Development and will be responsible for supporting activities throughout the full lifecycle of BD. This includes identifying opportunities, maturing opportunities through the capture process and helping support opportunities through the proposal process.


What You'll Get to Do:

  • Establish pipeline with opportunities aligned with RD core capabilities & strategic growth initiatives
  • Leading all capture management activities such as build out of capture plans ensure plan completion, leads kick off meetings, responsible for team resources ability to obtain buy in and approval from all decision makers and the overall gate and capture review process
  • Responsible for all intelligence & analysis
  • Develop baseline and foundation for win strategy and technical approach
  • Leads efforts of building a winning team to tell the overall win story
  • Drive all capture and BD lifecycle opportunities
  • Develop plan for all marketing activities
  • Responsible for development of proposal package to tell a win story that directly relates to the need’s issues and challenges of the customer
  • Influence stakeholders and customers on win strategy

What You'll Need:

  • At least 10 years’ experience with demonstrated success in business development and capture of contracts valued greater than $50M
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (required) and/or Masters in related discipline (preferred)
  • Demonstrated successes reflecting the ability to grow the business (required)
  • Working knowledge and experience with space and engineering support acquisition organizations (required)
  • Experience developing capture plans for new business opportunities (required)
  • Experience in the following discipline(s): Business development, capture management, program management, science and engineering programs, civil space programs, acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification (required)
  • Excellent business acumen skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and assignments
  • Strong business/technical writing skills (preferred)
  • Military DoD or civilian experience acquiring fielding or operating space sensor or ground support systems (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required, and familiarity with SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
  • Frequent travel may be required. Potential for partial remote work exists
