JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Innovation is responsible for organizing, leading, and helping execute agency-wide initiatives and projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties. Held by an enthusiastic and driven individual, this position is an active partner of the Victor Leadership Team in ensuring that the Agency’s mission is effectively implemented across all programs and departments in alignment with our values and strategic priorities.

The position plays a critical role in driving change and growth, cultivating innovation capabilities within the organization. This position requires a focus on both the culture of the organization and the strategy that drives positive change.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Actively participates in identifying, designing and implementing agency initiatives in partnership with other senior leaders.
  • Provides special project leadership and support as needed.
  • Formulates effective new ideas and innovative strategies for process improvement across the organization.
  • Proactively addresses operational issues and collaborates with team members to solve problems quickly and thoughtfully.
  • Promotes and maintains a culture of creative problem solving, ownership, diversity and inclusion that enables innovation and empowers team members with responsibility and accountability.
  • Partners with the CEO and COO to represent the Victor agencies with external stakeholders with the purpose of identifying new industry trends and needs.
  • Effectively utilizes data to assess opportunities and fiscal impact of new initiatives and direction.
  • Develops implementation and action plans to execute on a shared vision, with a focus on excellence, customer satisfaction and fiscal responsibility.
  • Supports sites and Executive Directors implementing agency wide initiatives related to services and culture.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree or higher in an educational field related to this position.
  • Must have 10+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in a complex human services setting, with extensive experience serving children, youth, and their families.
  • Proven track record of leading successful innovation projects from concept to launch to step-by-step implementation.
  • Experience using data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong critical and system thinking skills, with the ability to consider the resources and time needed for implementation, as well as potential outcomes and pitfalls of the initiative.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey ideas in a way that everyone can understand and be clear on what they need to do.
  • High emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, emotional regulation and excellent social navigation skills in the context of complex organizational dynamics.
  • Ability to think creatively and outside the box.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-department teams outside of direct reporting structure.
  • Must have broad knowledge of service models and programs provided by the Victor organizations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated excellence as communicator and team leader, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve their best.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test, drug screening test and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (s) and booster.
  • Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  • Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
