Summary

The Director of Project Management Office ("PMO") is responsible for the leadership of corporate PMO functions and staff. The responsibilities include maintaining PMO processes, programs, technical platforms, as well as managing workload capacity, balancing, and scheduling. The primary goal of the Director of PMO is to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of all PMO-led projects to include schedule, budget and defined outcome compliance using proven project management processes and tools including MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and other available tools to manage the administrative aspects of project implementation and related process documentation. This role will also be responsible for directly managing projects in addition to department management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage PMO resources, schedule, capacity, and budget planning & execution.
  • Oversee all current ad pending projects to ensure assigned project managers are tracking toward successful outcomes.
  • Managing risk associated with project execution is a primary responsibility of this role.
  • Assist project managers with establishing project scope, schedule, and objectives for all active and pending projects
  • Plan budget and resource requirements to ensure sufficient capacity to meet project demand.
  • Oversee and assess ongoing execution of all active projects and consult with assigned PM to avoid issues and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Directly manage projects.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers to include assigning responsibility and communicating deliverables and expectations to staff as well as project team members.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout to constantly update and improve PMO performance
  • Establish success measures for the PMO and regularly report department performance as well as status of all active projects.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development for PMO staff.

  • Project Management - Excellent planning/organizing skills. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline. Diligent attention to detail required.
  • Personal Effectiveness/Credibility - Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to solve problems creatively.

People Management

This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional project teams and developing strong, trusting, and effective relationships with operations, sales, and administrative leadership throughout the company to collaboratively drive results.

Work Environment

This position works indoors in an office setting.

Physical Demands

  • Bend/stoop/crouch/squat/use arms/wrists/hands/grasp throughout shift.
  • Climb stairs/ladder occasionally

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days/hours of work vary, and may include weekends.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5+ years of project management and related experience
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
  • Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
