With the goal of improving the safety of patient care and under the direction of the Senior Director of Clinical Risk Management, the individual in this position is responsible for the implementation of all loss prevention and loss mitigation activities, and operational oversight of the incident reporting system UMMSafe. This includes activities and services pertaining to the initial and recredentialling educational requirements of the MMCIP program, employee and physician orientation programs at UMMC, and general and local loss prevention and loss mitigation activities (including risk education activities) and activities related to the PSRM Program as needed. In collaboration with the SVP of Claims, Litigation & Risk Management, the Senior and Regional Directors of Clinical Risk Management and Claims and Litigation this individual will actively assist with the SEAR program; and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- CPHRM certification required
- Masters or other advanced degree required
- 3 years nursing or other clinical experience required
- 5 years prior risk management, patient safety or legal experience with knowledge of applicable state and federal requirements
- Evidence of supervisory experience or ability.
