Dishwasher Job at Rock and Brews Restaurant
Department: Dishwasher
Reports to: Job Group Manager, General Manager, Manager on Duty
Typical Work Week: 25-40 hours
Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the dishwasher is to maintain a clean area, sanitize dishes, glasses and flatware. This role performs a series of kitchen functions including washing pots and pans, general maintenance, and storing food and non-food supplies.
Major Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Operate dishwashing equipment.
- Wash, distribute, and stock clean pots, pans, dishes, glasses and flatware.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces and BOH in accordance with cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Empty trash cans.
- Performs cleaning side work as assigned.
- Maintain the dish station in safe and sanitary condition.
- Maintain BOH as clean, stocked and well-organized.
- Assists in overall ongoing maintenance of the facility.
- Supports kitchen staff in other duties as required.
- Follow safety regulations.
- Able to work in a high pace and hot environment.
- Ensure dishes are prepared in a timely manner by continuously restocking ingredients at their workstation.
- Maintain a clean workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, and coolers.
- Able to do repetitive work.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Walks and stands during the entire shift.
- Continuously reach, bend, carry, stoop and wipe.
- Remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Frequent washing of hands following Health Department Guidelines.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Dangers may include, but are not limited to slipping, tripping, falling, and cuts.
- Cooks may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, hazardous materials, loud noise, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Specific sensory abilities required by this job include sight, taste, smell, and hearing.
Knowledge, Skills & Requirements:
- Physical ability to carry trays and tubs filled with various small wares not exceeding 50 pounds.
- The physical ability to balance heavy items.
- Constant standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing.
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required.
- High energy and stamina required.
- Able to work in conditions involving noise, heat, temperature changes, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc.
- The ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure.
- The ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
- Verbal communication skills required.
- Willingness to work at all times.
- The ability to read menus, safety documents, etc.
