Position Summary
This position supports operational compliance by providing coordination support for workforce development and training programs. The Documentation Specialist is responsible for documentation maintenance, managing large volumes of data and coordinating training events and workforce development programs. This position must maintain strict confidentiality as it handles sensitive data.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
60% Database Management (Maintenance and Retention)
  • Assist in the development and launch of plantwide training database
  • Track training plantwide, inclusive of annual and mandatory training; maintain training matrices and records
  • Uphold consistent documentation practices across operations, audit documentation to ensure compliance
  • Routine tasks including, but not limited to:
    • Maintain user profiles, assignments, and reports in the training database (Leading2Lean)
    • Data entry into various systems
    • Auditing of training records and follow-up: Maintain digital and physical files, secure documents, check documents for accuracy
    • Maintaining distribution lists, reports and metrics
    • Maintain digital libraries of training records, e-learning content, policies and procedures (company intranet)
30% Administration (Event Coordination, Workforce Development Programs)
  • Compile, maintain and report data related to apprenticeship programs, EZONE and other government funded programs
  • Adhere and maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Coordinate and schedule training for new hires and current employees in the operations areas
  • Organize and schedule training events, inclusive of reviewing the list of participants, distribution of materials and training, monitor trainee in training, support OJT trainers in training
  • Publish, update and content on company intranet page for training, perform document conversions
  • Utilize software systems in support of training function: Workday, Leading2Lean, SignUp Genius, GoFormz and Microsoft Forms
10% Other special projects as assigned (Ad Hoc Trainings)
  • Will engage with BorgWarner partners to coordinate and facilitate information sessions and tours (e.g. technical colleges and governmental agencies)
  • May conduct research and assist with content creation including documents, presentations, video editing and e-learning objects
  • Escalate issues as appropriate
  • Other duties or projects as assigned
Additional Information: Travel is occasionally required (<10%)
Safety and Physical Requirements:
  • All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the safety policies and procedures
  • Wear PPE when appropriate in designated campus areas
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. on occasion

Education & Experience
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or more is preferred
  • Experience: At least 6-month(s) related work experience is required, prefer experience in very fast-paced, heavy documentation, customer service environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook products
  • Ability to stand, sit and walk daily in classroom and manufacturing floor environment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively inclusive of public speaking before large audiences
  • Good listening skills
