  • Job Summary
      Under moderate supervision by the System Director Diagnostic Services, the Echovascular Tech promotes and maintains quality echo testing practices for the Cardiovascular Services. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
  • Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
      Works in patient areas. May be exposed to communicable diseases as well as blood, body fluids, or tissue. May be exposed to chemicals used from cleaning equipment. Must be able to work under stress and be adaptable to new situations. May be subject to injury from strain of lifting or moving patients if proper techniques are not used. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently. Schedule will vary on rotating ten hour shifts four days/week. Call requirement for after shift and weekend procedures.
  • Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
      Education: Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) – Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). In addition to being registered with ARDMS or CCI, must also have Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)- Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS).
      Experience: Skilled professional with a solid foundation in Echocardiography. A minimum of one to two (1-2) years of experience is preferred.
      EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: (See Competency Checklist)
      • Maintenance of current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for HealthCare Workers or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for HealthCare workers.
      • Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of client information.
      • Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
      • Ability to work effectively within a role independently and with other team members.
  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
      Current state certification, licensure or license eligible in states where applicable. ARDMS or CCI (RCS), and CCI (RVS). CPR or BCLS certification.
