Job Description:
Summary:
Dexter Laundry builds commercial washers and dryers for a variety of customer markets. The controls for user interface are an area of rapid growth and need for additional engineering support. The engineer will work both individually and in partnership with contract manufacturers to develop new products and support existing ones. This includes integration of embedded systems software and PCB hardware support. This position requires self-motivation, creativity and strong organizational skills. The engineer must be able to multi-task and interact with various internal departments and external vendors.

Position Responsibilities:

• Directly responsible for project management work integrating embedded systems, PCB hardware and software use into commercial appliances
• Directly responsible for development of testing standards and laboratory testing of embedded systems and IoT systems
• Occasional responsibility involving travel to customer locations for system troubleshooting and field test monitoring
• Interacts with supply chain suppliers regarding design issues, changes, and quality improvements.
• Interacts with external customers regarding field complaints.

Competencies:

• Basic knowledge of low voltage power systems is required (1PH, 50/60Hz, up to 240VAC)
• MS Excel, PPT and Word, ACAD skills are required
• Basic knowledge of circuit board design is preferred
• Basic knowledge of web development tools and programming languages is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Labview or similar lab-testing software is preferred.

Essential education, licenses, certifications, skills and experience:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
