Electrical Engineer (Koppel, PA)

ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, a multi-discipline Engineering firm. We specialize in providing technical services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, and a broad range of other Technical disciplines.

In support of our client, an international steel manufacturer, ResourceTek is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Koppel, PA. This person will need to possess a background in Electrical and Automation to help lead electrical activities in the Steel Shop. This will be a long-term contract assignment (possibly multi-year or could eventually go direct). This person will need to be able to effectively work in the field talking with an electrician and within the office working with other engineers to help drive projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Candidate will need to have the ability to study and understand electrical engineering drawings
• Must be able to understand and confirm drawings in the field
• Supervise surveys to get information from the field to input into the drawings
• Possess the ability to open a PLC program and do I/O checks.
• Review of electrical packages for accuracy and compliance to plant requirements and to ensure production workflow and future production growth.
• Manage general and subcontractors for schedule adherence to the overall project requirements, including technical specifications, material compliance, schedule, and safety.
• Correct schedule issues that could have a negative effect and develop a solution to correct them.
• Monitor the changes to the scope and prints and to monitor the work on them to keep the project on schedule and to insure the contractors are within the pricing for the work.
• Communicating with engineering and contractors, orally, listening and in writing, to keep the work moving forward and to ensure the entire team is on the same page.
• Knowledge of electrical installations, codes, and construction methods.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of electrical design documents, in various stages of design completion.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Working knowledge in construction software or other job cost scheduling software experience preferred.
• Must be skilled in prioritizing, problem solving, multi-tasking and organizing.

Requirements:

• An AS / BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in industrial construction and/or electrical systems is required.
• The desired candidate will have 5+ years of experience in managing the installation of industrial electrical systems and equipment, including motors and drives, etc.
• Experience managing contractors in the field and ensuring adherence to engineering drawings/electrical diagrams as well as safe work practices per client standards.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $137,000.00 per year
