Summary
Silvus Technologies Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector who reports to the Quality Supervisor and will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintaining proper documentation, reporting and reliable paper trail in support of incoming electronic and mechanical parts, manufacturing, and testing processes and procedures, and as required, customer requirements. The Quality Control Inspector also investigates product quality problems, failures, anomalies, and works with engineering and suppliers to recommend changes or improvements. The position is full-time, onsite Monday through Friday.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen) due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
Job Functions
Perform and document inspections on products and processes, including inspection of electronic cables, GPS devices, wifi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
Conduct inspection tied to receiving raw materials, parts, and components, as well fit checks as necessary.
Ability to inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
Prepare in-process inspection reports ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Maintain Quality documentation.
Identify serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
Utilize inspection tools (i.e., multimeters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
Read and interpret part documentation, including blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
Performs other related duties, as necessary, of which the above are representative.
Minimum Education and Training
3-5 years of electronic part inspection or a combination of education and experience.
IPC-J-STD 610 or 001 Certified is a plus.
Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
Knowledge of inspection techniques and tools appropriate to electronic componentry and subassemblies.
Ability to read schematics, specifically those related to PCBs and PWAs.
Be proficient with basic computer skills as well as MS office (Word, Excel, etc.).
Knowledge of quality control.
Ability to follow established procedures.
Ability to pivot frequently on changing priorities.
Ability to select and evaluate priorities.
Ability to read and comprehend documentation written in the English language.
Ability to effectively problem-solve and utilize good judgment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently.
