Title: Training Manager - Ambulance Service

Position Shift: Mon-Fri

Position Summary:

· The Education Coordinator/Field Training Officer maintains and enhances clinical and/or educational competence for the EMS Department staff utilizing an Educational Action Plan and Annual Needs Assessment. Provides general and specialty specific education to prepare department staff to be safe, efficient and competent in all aspects of their respective positions. Develops and coordinates the new employee orientation process, meets with orientees and preceptors as needed. Participates in corporate educational programs. Assists staff with their career path, counseling and directing as needed.Assess the competence of staff utilizing an annual clinical review format and/or other skills evaluation process. Plans, develops and evaluates department specific programs to maintain or increase the skill knowledge of the assigned staff. Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs developed internally or presented by external sources.Provides field review and training of department staff on an on-going basis by remaining proficient as a field paramedic and serving in that capacity as needed to educate staff on proficient field medicine and documentation.The Education Coordinator/Field Training Officer is expected to adhere to all MRH corporate policies as well as departmental SOGs. In the absence of the Director, the Education Coordinator/Field Training Officer will assume management/supervisory responsibilities for the EMS department.

Credentials / Education:

· Paramedic License Required

· IC Preferred

· NAEMT Instructor Preferred

· AHA Instructor in BLS, ACLS, PALS Preferred

· 5 Years Emergency Services at the Paramedic Level Required

· 1 Year College level instruction experience Preferred
