Overview:

Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success.

ABCD Head Start & Children's Services is a family development program serving children from birth to age five, as well as pregnant women. Part of a highly successful national program, we provide comprehensive services to the whole family and foster a safe, creative learning environment to support children in school readiness and their social-emotional development. We are looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve!

Duties include:
  • Responsible for the complete and accurate collection, entry, reporting and maintenance of data, records and reports related to ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance) of children and families of the program
  • Actively participate in creating and implementing the program’s recruitment plan
  • Communicate and meet with potential families and provide information regarding program eligibility requirements
  • Oversee all activities related to processing applications including collecting and copying documents received from families related to eligibility
  • Monitor, prepare and distribute report including monthly attendance analysis to ensure that attendance does not fall below 85%
  • Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking, follow up and enrollment data analysis, and produce regular reports
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time



Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with 21 credits towards a relevant degree and up to one year of related working experience required
  • Knowledge of neighborhoods served by the program and relevant city-wide services required
  • Must be able to participate in community activities, training, and night meetings as needed
  • Frequent traveling for home visits and off-site trainings required
  • Must be able to regularly kneel, bend, sit on the floor, and lift and move infant to preschool age children in order to attend to their needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills required
  • Bilingual skills and the ability to translate as necessary
  • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds
