Job Purpose:

We are in search of full-time 2nd shift warehouse associates for our operations for our Charlotte, North Carolina Distribution Center located on General Drive. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptional service to all Big Rock Sports customers by processing orders and handling product in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensure that boxes are of correct weight.
• Utilizes the automated pallet wrappers, ensures all pallets are properly wrapped for shipment.
• Stage’s cartons and stacking onto pallets.
• Accurately handles shipping of all hazmat.
• Accurately inputs all data into the shipping software, and processes all orders required to “Ship Today”.
• Assists in loading trucks.
• Desire to work and be cross trained over multiple departments.
• Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of distribution center operations.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards, while ensuring that all work is performed with a consistent sense of efficiency and urgency.
• Work in compliance with all company, operations, systems, and safety related policies and procedures.
• Maintain an acceptable level of attendance.
• Perform housekeeping and other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing.
• High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of related experience, training, and/or education.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (limited heat or air conditioning).
• Minimum of one-year distribution center experience is a plus.
• One year of shipping experience preferred.
• Able to use pallet jacks (manual and electric).
• Able to drive forklift.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and write legibly and to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• English language fluency preferred.
• Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
• Complete understanding of safety and risk management

Physical requirements

• Must be able to perform work that involves standing, walking, and bending for a minimum of eight hours.
• Able to continuously lift or push to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
