Job Title: Maintenance Worker

Job Description:

A Maintenance Worker at D&S Dental Laboratory, Inc. is accountable for performing essential upkeep tasks primarily at our Waunakee location. They must also be willing to travel occasionally to our satellite locations in Baraboo, Greenfield, Eau Claire, and Rockford during the workday as needed. The Maintenance Worker serves as a contact for current employees experiencing laboratory equipment failures and/or technical difficulties. Their primary responsibility is to repair, install, clean, and maintain necessary machines, appliances, structures, and equipment to ensure facilities are functional. The Maintenance Worker is expected to be well-versed with performing inspections and troubleshooting various equipment and systems.

Job Requirements:

1) Diagnose and repair laboratory machines and equipment to maintain productivity

a. Read, comprehend, and utilize technical manuals and drawings as necessary (i.e., repair manuals, parts catalogs, blueprints, etc.)

b. Order replacement parts as needed

c. Implement preventative maintenance measures to ensure that systems operate efficiently

d. Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies

2) Handle minor building repairs as needed (i.e., lights, locks, windows, doors, walls, floors, gutters, drains, etc.)

a. Conduct routine inspections of company equipment and premises

b. Utilize a variety of skills such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to maintain D&S’ buildings

3) Respond quickly to emergencies and notify appropriate personnel

a. Follow safety protocol

4) Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary and keep Business Manager updated on progress

5) Job-related duties include the above description, but are not limited by them and may extend to some landscaping responsibilities as needed

Education:

1) High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience Required:

1) Proven as a skilled maintenance worker or similar position with 3-5 years of experience

2) Applicants should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this position; able to lift 50 lbs.

3) Driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required
