Facilities Maintenance Needed - Entry Level Welcome Job at The Zidian Group
Position Summary
Responsible for the repairs and maintenance at the company facility inside and outside, acting as the contact for emergency situations that affect ability to open for business. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will assess and coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services. Able to work with all hand tools and power tools; have general maintenance knowledge and skills to include electrical, carpentry, dry-wall, painting, plumbing, and landscaping.
Primary Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary contact for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
- Maintains building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis working as the main point of contact and with the alarm company
- Perform basic electrical work (including replacing light bulbs and ballasts) and determines when an electrician is required
- Perform basic plumbing work and determines when a plumber is required
- Perform basic HVAC work and determines when a Heating and Air company is required
- Repair damaged walls (both inside and outside of buildings) - dry wall and repaint when necessary
- Perform immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
- Have knowledge of basic metal repairing and be able to perform the repair
- Inspect all fire extinguishers and emergency lighting on a monthly basis. Keep record of these inspections to include date and time of inspection
- Ability to know when outside subcontractors are needed for larger repairs and make recommendations of same to immediate supervisor
- Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or G.E.D.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance
- Have basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC and metal working skills / training
- Must have good reading and math skills
- Must be in good physical shape with high stamina and dexterity
- Able to lift 50 + lbs.
- Able to physically withstand extreme temperatures of cold or hot
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
