Firefly Children & Family Alliance is currently seeking a full or part-time Family Support Specialist in Muncie, Indiana. This role will serve Wells, Adams, Grant, Blackford, Jay, Delaware and Raldolph counties. You will work to provide guidance, direction and documentation of visitation for the families you will serve. You will be exposed to the Department of Children Services and the court system on occasion.


You Will:

  • Family Progress - Monitoring and Coaching (70%)

    • Complete all required documentation

    • Oversee visits between children and their parents in our visitation offices or community

    • Help schedule visits

    • Coach collaboratively – maintaining a balance between teaching and serving

    • Provide education and support to youth/families

    • Assist youth/families in achieving their goals

    • Attend all required meetings

    • It is understood that each employee follows and follows the professional standards as outlined by your perspective professional degree, license or agency policy

    • Perform any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor

    • Communicate with multiple institutions related to youth/family matters

    • Provide transportation to youth/families

    • Attend court with clients and render recommendations

    Service Plans / Goal Development (15%)

    • Create goals for each family

    • Review goals when needed

    • Work with other social welfare agencies

    Reporting (15%)

    • Maintain case and agency paperwork according to standards

    • Prepare written reports for the Department of Child Services / Probation office within identified time frames

You Have:

  • High School diploma or GED required OR A non-human service related Bachelor's degree and 2 years of social service experience OR Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a directly related human service field.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance. with 6 or less points on driving record.
