FFG – HELPER 3rd shift


DEPARTMENT: CONVERTING REPORTS TO: Supervisor

SUMMARY: Assists in set up and helps operate machine to print and cut corrugated board by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Helps set up the machine.
  • Helps to monitor quality throughout the production run.
  • Pulls samples as required.
  • Identifies any nonconforming material discovered during the run and places a reject or hold-tag on side of units. Notifies the Operator and Department Supervisor.
  • Clears machine jam ups with assistance from crew.
  • Assist in making small mechanical repairs to equipment and reports significant and major mechanical failures to Operator and Department Supervisor immediately.
  • Adheres to correct and proper clean up procedures as directed by department supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb and/or balance.


The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and high places. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical current.
