Finish Carpenter Job at Icon Construction & Design
We are hiring a finish carpenter to implement quality craftsmanship in projects. You must be skilled in a variety of carpentry techniques (e.g. tile setting, flooring, trimwork) and possess the ability to complete projects using diverse materials (e.g. woods, metals). Carpentry work involves a lot of heavy lifting and occasionally scaffolding work. We expect you to be able to operate power tools and machines, as well as to work with both hand and power tools (e.g. saws, drills, routers). The ideal candidate is someone who can transport supplies and equipment to the carpentry site. Most finish carpenters have at least a high school diploma; experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret building plans and specifications .
- Prepare materials, equipment and tools for jobsite assembly and disassembly .
- Prepare and assemble space for wallboard installation .
- Measure, mark and cut wood to specified dimensions using saws (e.g. power, chop, jigsaw) .
- Fasten wood to form joints (e.g. nail gun, screws) .
- Sand and paint surface or cover rough edges with trim pieces .
- Perform other finish carpentry tasks (e.g. drywall hanging) as required by the specific job.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability
