Located in Quonset Point, North Kingstown, RI Fast Ferry is seeking qualified First Mates for our 2023 Operating Season (June-October). This role is not scheduled on rotations and does not provide housing; applicants must be based or plan to be based locally in Rhode Island.

Job Description: Mates aboard our high-speed catamaran ferries assist the Master in the day-to-day operation of the boat, ensuring that all operations are conducted within our company safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to: managing crew, performing vessel maintenance, and ensuring that all operations are conducted within our company safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
USCG 100GRT Master’s License, FA/CPR/AED. Radar Observer Unlimited and practical radar experience is a plus. Mechanical know-how is a plus, ability to assist in performing vessel maintenance is required. This position will encompass a wide range of responsibilities including crew management, vessel maintenance, and administration of a variety of company policies.
