Summary or Purpose
Perform secretarial support and coordinate office and clerical staff to assist with the efficient operation
of the department.

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience:
Graduate from high school or general education degree.
Office experience helpful
Experience in all areas of the purchasing process.

Experience in using Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and cloud based programs
essential.

Language Skills:
Read and interpret procedures, policies and regulations, such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Effectively present information and respond to questions.

Preference: Inupiaq speaking and cultural experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
AK. Driver’s License required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Type 55 words per minuteaccurately.
Lift 40 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Schedule, conduct, evaluate and participate in the auditing of free and reduced meals;

assure compliance with the National School Lunch program requirements; review
procedures followed at each site and recommend changes as appropriate.

  • Conduct operational program reviews; notify administrative staff in Maintenance and
Operations Department of the audit/review status of each site visited, audited and
evaluated.
  • Train food services personnel and schoolbook keepers in the free and reduced meals
application.
  • Develop, write and submit reports to administrators and other staff; recommend changes
in program operations to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements.
  • Advise staff regarding meal ticket distribution and coding, organization and maintenance
of master lists and the handling of lost or misused tickets for meals.
  • Monitor on-line responsibilities in accordance with reduced meal claims procedures.
  • Assist in the production of reports, meetings, conferences, and special

projects.

  • Assist Food Service Coordinator in preparing, reviewing, and

awarding bids pertaining to Food Services.

  • Develop and maintain exceptional working knowledge of the

Primero Edge software system.

  • Data Entry on PrimeroEdge daily/monthly for inventory.
  • Maintain and manage inventory count sheets.
  • Assist FS Coordinator with to manage PrimeroEdge and food

inventory.

  • Create forms, disseminate forms to the community, evaluate applications for free

and reduced priced meals following the nutritional and operational requirements

of the National School Lunch program and related Federal and State regulations.

  • All other duties as assigned.
