Job Description:

The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for being the first point of contact for incoming calls and visitors while exhibiting a polite and professional demeanor.

Shift Details:

This specific opening is only for our evening weekdays and morning/evening weekend availability. Applying for this position means that you can comply with this work schedule.

Essential Functions

Primary duties include, but are not limited to,

  • Answering the telephone and operating a switchboard
  • Greeting guests entering the organization and directing them to their correct destination, dealing with inquiries from our members and the public
  • Responsible for the organization and appearance of the Front Desk, lobby, reception area and coat room.
  • Excellent communication skills and phone manner with effective listening skills and the ability to speak clearly.
  • Knowledge of greater Arlington, local roads and landmarks is useful in this position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels with good display of initiative and willingness to contribute to the success of the organization as a whole.
  • Experience and exceptional aptitude in customer service
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, email and all Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of operating office machines including copier, fax machine, printer and laminating machine.
  • This position is required to perform various administrative support tasks for the managers, catering office, administrative and other staff as needed.

Experience

  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak English fluently

  • Must be personable, reliable, committed, organized and professional
  • 2+ years of current/recent experience as a receptionist
  • Mature individual with a reliable and dependable work ethic
  • A team player who is also self-sufficient and able to work independently


Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods of time

General availability: The Army Navy Country Club is looking for a dedicated, reliable, and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to work part-time weekday and weekend morning and/or evening shifts. This position requires working major holidays (Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Easter, Mother's Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving). There is no set schedule. The Front Desk shifts are based on the needs of the business.


Pay Range: Based on experience

This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment)
