Aquitaine Boston, located in the South End of Boston, (www.Aquitaineboston.com.com) is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our team.

The successful candidate should have at least 2 years of management experience. This General Manager first and foremost, must be a leader and be able to motivate, teach and inspire staff. The consummate professional, this general manager is polished and always exudes grace under pressure. Attention to detail, an unwavering passion for service, and most importantly, an ability to demonstrate open hospitality are the qualities of this successful General Manager. Our General Managers are expected to understand costs and they will have some P&L accountability. Experience with private events, a strong understanding of social medial and marketing are also qualities of this General Manager. Wine and beverage knowledge will also be a key to your success.

You will be joining a restaurant company, The Aquitaine Group, that is about to start growing again after the COVID slow down. This position will allow you to have further opportunities as a major player within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Regularly review product quality
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
  • Control operational costs
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. social media )
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant server/bartender, Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager and server
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
  • Familiarities with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and Aloha
  • Strong leadership, motivation and people skills
  • Financial management skills
  • BSc degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
